29.5: Magnetic Landscape Art – Winners Announced!

Small turnout on a very abstract contest. A total of Five entries were submitted, and all participants won magnets. Many people, including ourselvers, weren’t quite sure how to approach the construction of a landscape scene. Now that a a stylistic path has been paved, we’ll try a similar contest again in May 2014.

1st Place: Dollabills

Clean and discernible at first glance. Cute scene with an active volcano and two snow capped mountains. Eye catching bright blue sky. $100 awarded.

2nd Place: Tend2it

Crisp, well white-balanced shot of a river running through a rainbow mountain range. Great details at full resolution. $50 in Zen credits awarded.

3rd Place: Brobertatwork

2D Magnet Pixel Art that captures a scene of an ocean beach, under mixed clouds and a bright sun.$25 won, usable on Zenmagnets.com or neoballs.com.

4th Place: GalaxyTraveler

Looks clean and professional. This approach uses magnets as illustrative border. The background and fill are carefully added in post. $15

5th Place: Dannyv180

The lower angle perspective on the scene gives it a sense of grandness. As if viewed from a far distance. $10 in prizes awarded.
